why don't they build the cost of maintenance into the price to use?
In gas, fuel taxes, for roads, bridges. The cost of sewage and water for those who use it.
It may retain jobs but no real effect in job growth
There are two people, A and B. A has money, B is unemployed. The Government taxes A to give a job to B. ( 100 $ tax -> 100$ pay) A net wash of dollars. no multiplying effect.
Now the government says to A: buy plant and equipment, write it off . A now takes the reserve cash, buys plant and equipment, lower cost to produce, lower price, more sales and more B type people get employed.
Where did the money go? look at Recovery.gov and see.
In maryland Spent so far 1.3 billion 8k in jobs 159K per job. ( I figure 50/50 split of that for salary/ben and materials)
leaves about 3.7 billion left to spend , but when and on what. ?
My zip code 21117 - 2007 IRS 26k returns filed. Stimulus created 1 One Job and cost 100k (50 k emp / 50 k mat)

Ask your power company.
Local Snow resorts in PA buy wind power from local farms. They upgrade lighting, and upgrade snow making equipment to use less energy.
