HEALTH CARE TOOLS

Did you know;

The USA has less hospital rooms per person

and less doctors per person than the rest of the Civilized world.

USA actually excels in the world with clinics and Surgical Centers outside the hospital.

Link for the Bills-

H.R.3590 - Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act  and the amendment to it   ---- H.R.4872 - Reconciliation Act of 2010

IF YOU LIVE IN MARYLAND THE HSCRC since 1971 has been controlling costs.

INSURANCE COMPANIES SPEND

 TOO MUCH ON ADMIN COSTS

Truth they spend on average 7%.   Compared to Charities: ( ""Our data shows that 7 out of 10 charities we've evaluated spend at least 75% of their budget on the programs and services they exist to provide. And 9 out of 10 spend at least 65%. "

MEDICARE is actually higher than private insurance

NO COMPETITION is that true?

Ever look ie shop around for insurance?

I have. In Maryland there are lots of plans and lots of options.

Some as low as 30$ a month for one person but the deductible is 5000. Others range from 100 to 250$ a month and up.

try these links and there are dental and prescription plans

Blue Cross Shield United health, ehealthinsurance

  • State: MD Health Plans: 276 Carriers: 23   From: $46.00/mo

Also  a free RX card.

ER Emergency Room

Last time for me was for two stitches at $300 but 1993 timeframe.

The report link is from Orange County CA.

"40% of the ER visits are not urgent"

Why are there no 59$ clinics in the Urban areas ??? or MEDI clinics at $110

What are the Costs

Health care spending higher than the other countries:

some reasons include Auto Accidents and Obesity

Accounting for the cost of U.S. health care: A new look at why Americans spend more
The United States spends $650 billion more on health care than expected, even when adjusting for the economy's relative wealth. MGI examines the underlying trends and key drivers of these higher costs.

Insurance Companies deny claims

Guess who is number one in percentage of denial

"MEDICARE" at 6.85 percent

WHAT ARE THE TOP 3 OPERATIONS?

Knee, Hip, Heart

Here is an animated site that lets you perform the operation

MEDICAID - THE STATES (OOPS THAT IS US )

Always has picked up the cost of medicaid, and under the new law the rolls will double.

IS THE USA GOING BROKE?

Yes, and the two highest costs are the following:

Medicare and Debt Financing

Which was (ROOT CAUSE) based on a non existent population curve. Think like a pyramid.

Does not look to me that there is a population boom to cover the costs.

So how does the USA get the money?

from young people who most likely never need it and by cutting medicare rates,

(which the congress has never been able to do)

CAN THE IRS DELIVER A SYSTEM

Do a search on IRS Modernization Failure

Or TIGTA Audits or here where the IRS knowingly put JQ Public's data at risk.

TORT LAW REFORM-

When I set up a ski race it costs 1200$ to insure against lawsuits.

2 hrs and 50 people.  about 20 to 30% of the cost is for insurance

Japan Population 129 mill with 12,000 lawyers

USA Population 310 million with 1.2 million lawyers

Wondering??

BANKRUPTCY

In countries with universal health care, bankruptcy was not reduced.

About Me: Years ago 1988, I worked in a Hospital. I worked on pharmacy / patient delivery systems, Radiology intake systems, Nurse staffing scheduling systems, Operating room scheduling systems. I also worked on CPT and ICD DRG coding billing systems.  Last 12 years I have worked for SSA and IRS.

Hospitals in Maryland came under HSCRC cost review commission in 1971, to control costs. At 1988 the hospital beds in Maryland were cut ie down sized.
